Hooray!

So as if getting out of work early today wasn't good enough, almost as soon as I got home the doorbell rang. When Mark came back into the living room he was holding my nook! He had ordered one for me for Christmas but they were sold out and it wasn't expected to ship until after the new year. So yay for me! I got my nook earlier than I thought! I've already downloaded a book to it called Eating Animals. I started reading but haven't gotten too far. I'll let you all know what I think of it! But as of right now I am totally LOVING my nook!

Hey there!

So this is my first blog post - I'll introduce myself. My name is Lynn and I was married on 9/25/09. I have a twin sister. I'm vegetarian, she's not. My husband isn't either. Actually - nobody in my family is! This blog will basically be about me navigating my way through life with a bunch of carnivores!

Here is something that might explain more about me - tonight when I was driving home, I pulled into our parking lot and saw a dead animal in the middle of the road. It was much bigger than a squirrel and I was horrified! I pulled over into a parking spot and got out to inspect. I found out it was a bunny. I'm not sure how long it was there, but long enough that it died. I didn't even have a chance to try and save it (which I would have). So I got back in my car, high-tailed it to my condo and grabbed our shovel. I walked back over to the bunny and moved it out of the road into the grass. Even though it was dead, I didn't think the bunny deserved to spend the night (or however long it takes for someone at our complex to move it) in the parking lot. My husband said I was probably the only person in our complex that would think to move the bunny. But that is me in a nutshell - I respect all living creatures, and this bunny didn't deserve to die that way. I hope the person that hit him is ashamed of him/herself!!!!
